Community
How are the Chiefs involved in my community?
As an elite sporting organisation we have the capacity to make a difference on many levels. Part of this commitment to the community is facilitated through player appearances, as well as school programmes, autographed material and our official charity, Pass It On Foundation.
As part of our Community Engagement Programme, our core focus in relation to player appearances relates to meaningful and sustainable activity rather than one-off events and therefore the vast majority of appearances are taken up as part of Waikato's ongoing community programs in schools.
PLAYER APPEARANCES
The Chiefs players enjoy getting involved with visits to a variety of community groups, hospitals and schools each season.
As well as this, the Chiefs players are available to the public at the end of their open training sessions (see our "Upcoming Events" page during the season for date and time details), and for autograph signing on the field following home games.

SCHOOL PROGRAMMES
The Chiefs players are involved with the schools around the region. Working with local agencies, we are committed to helping to deliver strong messages to our young people.
If your school would like to be considered, please email us on with your ideas on what programme currently exists in your school and how we can add benefit to this.
Ticket vouchers - If you have received a ticket voucher through a community visit, then please ensure that you follow the directions on the voucher to redeem it. Alternatively, you can send the voucher in to us to redeem (Chiefs, PO Box 9507, Hamilton 3240). Please allow sufficient time for this to be processed and posted back to you.
AUTOGRAPHED MATERIAL
We have many supporters keen to have various items autographed by the Chiefs players throughout the season.
The Chiefs are happy to support schools, community groups and sports teams who want items autographed by our team. It is a positive way in which we can support our region.
Please click here for more information on Autographed Material.
OFFICIAL CHARITY - PASS IT ON FOUNDATION
The Pass It On Foundation is the official charity of the Chiefs.
The purpose of the Pass It On Foundation is to raise and provide funds to help advance healthy sporting communities within the Chiefs region.
With a particular emphasis on rugby, Pass It On strives to:
- support the participation of youth in all sports;
- foster and assist with the retention of players, coaches, administrators and referees in sporting activities; and
- contribute to coaching and training courses to help raise the standards of volunteers involved in sporting activities within the community.
