Chiefs 15 - Stormers 49

16th April 2010 10:35PM

The Chiefs went down 15-49 to the Stormers at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton tonight in round ten of the
Rebel Sport Super 14.

It was a match that was dominated by the on-form Stormers.  In the first half the Chiefs managed a late try by Tanerau Latimer to bring the half-time score to 10-20.

However, the second half proved to be a drought for the Chiefs with the Stormers scoring three unanswered tries as well as a penalty, before Tim Nanai-Williams crossed the line for the Chiefs with a try in the 66th minute.

Another Stormers try and conversion saw the final score being 15-49 to the Stormers.

Chiefs coach Ian Foster acknowledged that poor tackling and not winning the collision cost the Chiefs dearly in this match.

Next Friday night the Chiefs take on another South African team, the Cheetahs, at Waikato Stadium.

Foster's advice for the coming week in the post-match media conference was "it is about getting our confidence back, and getting our game going.....that will be key for the next two weeks."

Tickets are on sale now for the Chiefs v Cheetahs match on Friday 23 April through www.chiefs.co.nz, gate one Waikato Stadium, and the usual Chiefs ticket outlets.
