Chiefs Want Three out of Three

26th February 2010 04:42PM

Chiefs assistant coach Craig Stevenson says the Chiefs have a goal, and the belief, to win three out of three games on their tour of South Africa and Perth.

With two wins and nine points under their belt the Chiefs' next task is taking on the Western Force in Perth in the early hours of Sunday morning (NZ time).

"We don't just want it to be two out of three, we want it to be three and we're going to do everything in our power to make that happen on Saturday,"

Stevenson said in order for the Chiefs to achieve that goal,, discipline and defence were areas they are working on following last weekend's Lions match.

Speaking from Perth yesterday, where it was 42 deg C, Stevenson said temperatures were hot but the Chiefs were coping well with the conditions.

"We've been smart around hydration on this tour so far."

He said in Perth the team was training from 9am until 11am to avoid the heat of the day. Stevenson added that while the days are warm, the temperatures cool down in the night - so conditions should be comfortable when the Chiefs play the Western Force at ME Bank Stadium.

"It is certainly not a muggy heat like you get in Hamilton or Durban."
