Chiefs Coaching Clinic

13 January 2012 Back to Latest News

The week before Christmas, 160 invited rugby playing enthusiasts aged between 8 and 12 years old were invited to take part in a coaching clinic with the Chiefs team at Beetham Park in Hamilton.

The Chiefs took their role of sharing their rugby knowledge with the young players seriously but made the experience highly enjoyable for the participants.

The session started with a warm up by Chiefs assistant coach Andrew Strawbridge.  The kids were split into groups that were rotated between different skill stations run by their Chiefs idols.  After completing each skill station, the Chiefs provided constructed feedback to the members of each group.

Chiefs Manager Stu Williams said “It was a fantastic afternoon and we received great feedback from the parents and kids.”

The clinic concluded with an autograph signing session and a sea of happy faces from the group of future possible Super Rugby players.
