Good news for the Chiefs ahead of their match with the Crusaders in Hamilton Saturday night

with prop Pauliasi Manu and winger James Lowe re-committing to the franchise for another two years.

Chiefs Head Coach Dave Rennie said “We are rapt to re-sign Pauli and James.  They are both top men, who have high aspirations and are prepared to work hard for them.”

Since joining the team in 2013, Manu has played 31 matches for the Chiefs.

Commenting on the role the 27-year-old has played for the Chiefs, Dave Rennie said "A naturally quiet man, Pauli has grown enormously and become a big contributor for us both on and off the field.”

“He has been an outstanding scrummager, proving to be both powerful and explosive around the field for us.”

Manu said “My family is very settled and I am enjoying my rugby here.  I am constantly learning, so I feel at this stage of my career that being at the Chiefs is the best choice.”

Lowe, who joined the Chiefs at the start of last season, scoring three tries in his 12 outings stated “I am very happy at the Chiefs.  I love the culture and believe it is the best coaching staff in the world.

“The facilities and the management team are world class, so it was an easy decision for me to stay,” said the exciting winger.

22-year-old Lowe’s versatility compliments the Chiefs backline.  “James is a big, quick and powerful winger with a massive left foot.  His ability to beat defenders and play anywhere in the back three is a huge asset,” said Rennie.
