Born in Kawakawa in the far north, Veainu plays on the wing in both codes.

She debuted for the Kiwi Ferns in 2016 and in 2017 she was in the Rugby League World Cup squad that lost to the Jillaroos in the final. In 2019 she played for the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL Women’s Premership.

The Ardmore-Marist club player made her debut for the Counties Manukau Heat in 2014 and now has 15 tries from her 26 games. Veanu scored three tries in two games, including a double against Papua New Guinea, for the 2019 NZ Development XV in Fiji.

Veanu was part of the 2021 Waitomo Chiefs Womens team who beat the nib Blues in the first ever Super Rugby Womens match in NZ and even dotted down over the line in an epic breakaway try that was nominated for Try of the Year.
