Powerful prop Angus Ta'avao first made his impact when he played for the New Zealand Under 20 in 2010. His ability to play on both sides of the front row makes Ta'avao a versatile prop and a huge asset to the Gallagher Chiefs

Taavao made his Investec Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2012 and has played for the Waratahs in Australia.

In 2018 was a huge year for Taavao as he was called into the Gallagher Chiefs squad as injury cover. He featured in all 17 games of the 2018 campaign and he then was called into the All Blacks as injury cover.

He made his Test debut off the bench against Argentina in Buenos Aires.

Ta'avao was also part of the 2019 All Blacks Rugby World Cup squad who finished the tournament 3rd in Japan. Ta'avao returned to the All Blacks squad in 2021, after missing selection in 2020 due to injury.
