Aaron Cruden’s Classic French Crepe Recipe

Gallagher Chief Aaron Cruden returned from France to join the Gallagher Chiefs squad for their 2020 Investec Super Rugby campaign. During his time the first five-eighth dabbled in the French cuisine and has your Sunday brunch covered with his Classic French Crepe recipe.

Classic French Crepe Recipe:
1 cup of flour
1.5cups of milk
3 eggs
Optional: add a dash of rum for flavour

Put all the ingredients in a bowl and beat with an electric beater until combined.

Your mixture will be a lot thinner in consistency than pancake batter.

Use a paper towel to move some butter around the pan (this will help you not to have excess butter) then cook on a medium heat.

If you don’t have something to move the crepe around with, just tip your pan from side to side when you put the mixture in.

You’ll know they’re ready when the edges begin to slightly lift and slightly crisp.

Fold and enjoy.

Cruden’s tip add Nutella to the crepe while still in the pan for it to spread easily.
