Chiefs Region Under 19 teams’ kick off campaigns

This weekend the Chiefs region under 19 teams’ kick off their 2019 campaigns on Saturday 17 August as they vie for higher honours at the Jock Hobbs Memorial Tournament in Taupo in September.

The four Chiefs provincial unions: Bay of Plenty, Counties Manukau, Taranaki and Waikato will play three seeding games throughout August as they prepare for the upcoming tournament.

2018 defending champions Bay of Plenty will not only be defending the national title but will be challenged over the coming weeks to retain the Dave Rennie Shield. The Dave Rennie Shield is played for among the four Under 19 sides within the Chiefs region.

Sunday 25 August
Taranaki U19 v Bay of Plenty U19 – Yarrow Stadium, New Plymouth, 11.30am

Saturday 31 August
Bay of Plenty U19 v Waikato U19 – Tauranga Domain, Tauranga, 1.00pm
Counties Manukau U19 v Taranaki U19 – Navigation Homes Stadium, Pukekohe, 2.30pm
