Former Gallagher Chief Mitchell Graham founds Worchem

Former Gallagher Chiefs player Mitchell Graham has founded Worchem, New Zealand’s first and only company dedicated to supplying disinfectant tablets throughout the country.

Due to the active ingredient in his products being recommended for the disinfection of Covid-19, Graham has seen the demand for his products grow, and he has learnt more about business than he thought he would in the first year of operation. The products he supplies have never been so vital as the world continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After helping essential businesses work safely, his current focus is to help a wide range of organisations function safely as the economy reopens. “I can help businesses work through how to keep their staff and clients safe while operating.”

Graham was given an opportunity from a pharmaceutical supplier to become a distributor for their products in New Zealand. After researching their disinfectant tablets, he realised the value they could bring to New Zealand businesses. The front rower wanted to help Kiwis access quality disinfection products in a practical and environmentally friendly way.

Graham notched up 11 caps for the Gallagher Chiefs and proudly represented the Taranaki Bulls in the Mitre 10 Cup. He was part of the team that won the 2014 Mitre 10 Cup Premiership and clocked up 44 caps in amber and black.

Realising that rugby wouldn’t be a life-long career, Graham studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Canterbury and had a desire to use his knowledge to run a business.
