Former Gallagher Chiefs Head Coach Dave Rennie signs as Wallabies Coach
Former Gallagher Chiefs Head Coach Dave Rennie was unveiled as the new Wallabies coach on Wednesday morning this week. The appointment will see Rennie take up a three-year deal with the Australian side, which will take him through to the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
The current Glasgow Warriors coach had coached the Gallagher Chiefs from 2012 to 2017 and led the side to two consecutive Investec Super Rugby Championship titles in 2012 and 2013.
Chiefs Rugby Club CEO Michael Collins congratulated Rennie on his appointment.
“It is fantastic to see Dave announced as the Head Coach of the Wallabies. He is an incredible coach and it is testament to his ability that he has been successful in his appointment. We wish him all the very best and look forward to seeing what he can achieve,” said Collins.
The 55-year-old will arrive in Australia after the conclusion of the Pro14 season in June to take up his position.
