Gallagher Chiefs supporters will have more to celebrate for 2019

This year the Chiefs Rugby Club have a strong focus enhancing their supporters match day experience. Themed rounds, pyro technics, reverse auctions and an exclusive member’s entrance at each gate are among the changes for 2019.

Members will be treated to an exclusive entrance at each of the entry gates this season. The members’ entrance will allow our valued members to avoid the queues and get to their seats quicker.

Fun zones are back again for 2019. Kids will be able to have their face painted, meet some of their favourite players, plus grab a free kid’s bag upon showing their ticket. The Fun Zone won’t be limited to one gate, but will be at Whatanoa (gate one), Family Zone (gate two) and gate three.

Chief for 1-Day is open to young Gallagher Chiefs fans. They will have a once in a life time experience where they will run out the match ball at a home games and sit side-line with the team in the dugout.

DROPIT are also partnering with the Gallagher Chiefs leading into Friday’s showdown. DROPIT is an app where spectators can compete for the lowest price on daily drop auctions for a range of items including fuel, grocery vouchers, and the latest tech products.

During pre-game and halftime, fans will be invited to download the DROPIT App, register details then play for an exclusive Chiefs Experience. Once the drop auction starts, the price will rapidly drop on screen and the first person to swipe up will win the experience.

The entertainment doesn’t stop there, the clubs pyro technics will be better than ever. The excitement will begin when the team runs out, followed by in-game effects to enhance the big moments, something not to be missed at each home game.

This Friday, spectators are treated to two for one adult tickets in the Love Zone (commonly known as the Green Zone) where Valentines can bring along their other half for free to watch the Gallagher Chiefs kick off their season against the Highlanders which is proudly sponsored by PwC. ‘Kiss cam’ and ‘dance cam’ will feature and there will be plenty of prizes on offer.

Following the Gallagher Chiefs match up against the Highlanders the club will be calling on our loyal supporters to join us to hopefully celebrate 100 games in the Gallagher Chiefs jersey for Brodie Retallick when the team run out against the Sunwolves on Saturday 2 March.

FMG Stadium will roll back in time for our Retro Night on Friday 15 March. We expect to see a number of familiar playing faces from across the years re-joining their Chiefs Whanau for the evening as we celebrate our Alumni.

The ‘Battle of the Bombay’s’ will take place on Saturday 13 April where fans will be encouraged to be loud and loyal for our Gallagher Chiefs team when they take on the Blues.

The roar of the Lions will draw in the crowds over Easter, with Mother’s Day being celebrated when our Gallagher Chiefs take on the Sharks. The Gallagher Chiefs final scheduled home game at FMG Stadium Waikato will be dedicated to the clubs legendary supporters when we host the Queensland Reds before heading to Suva to host the Crusaders on Saturday June 1.

Sponsor and Community Relations Manager Emma Langman said as a team we want to make game day something that all supporters could really enjoy, not just the dedicated rugby fanatics.

“We can’t wait for this Friday’s game as there’s plenty instore for our fans. From the pyro to kiss cam to the Fun Zones and DROPIT, there’s something for everyone. All fans that download the DROPIT App this Friday will go into the draw to win a signed 2019 Gallagher Chiefs jersey signed by their favourite player and there’ll be loads more giveaways on game day. We’re looking forward to enhancing our supporters match day experience across the season with new initiatives and plenty of freebies,” said Langman.
