Quinn Tupaea’s childhood favourite treat

Gallagher Chiefs rookie Quinn Tupaea is embracing his first year at the Gallagher Chiefs. He has produced some great turnovers, outstanding assists and powerful breaks. However, his talents don’t just stop on the field, he can whip up an easy treat in for the Whānau to enjoy.

Tupaea’s go to treat and a childhood favourite is Rice Bubble Cake.

Ingredients:
125g of butter
½ Cup of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla essence
1 Tbsp of honey
5 Cups of rice bubbles

Method:
Hygiene is key so first of all wash your hands thoroughly.

In a medium size saucepan add butter, sugar, vanilla essence and honey and cook at a low heat. Stir continuously with a whisk until it turns toffee like.

Once the mixture turns toffee like, take off the heat.

Add your toffee mixture to your rice bubbles in a large mixing bowl.

Mix ingredients together. Once mixed place in a small tray to cool.

Once cooled cut into segments and it is ready to eat.
