University of Waikato Chiefs Under 20 team named to vie for Jane-Kahui Trophy

University of Waikato Chiefs Under 20 Head Coach Paul Hodder has named his team for their opening match of the Super Rugby Aotearoa Under 20 Tournament in Taupō.

Waikato’s Gideon Wrampling will captain the side when they take on the Hurricanes on Sunday morning. Both sides will be vying to lift the Jane-Kahui Cup for the first time. The inaugural Cup is honor of former Hurricanes and All Blacks winger Cory Jane and Gallagher Chiefs and All Blacks winger Richard Kahui.

The Super Rugby Aotearoa Tournament will feature Under 20 sides from all five New Zealand Super Rugby sides along with a New Zealand Barbarians Club Under 20 team. The Tournament will take part across three days at Owen Delany Park.
