Variety – the Children’s Charity announced as official community partner
The Chiefs Rugby Club have announced today Variety – the Children’s Charity will be one of the Club’s official community partners.
The two-year partnership will see the Chiefs Rugby Club execute fundraising initiatives and campaigns to raise awareness and funds for the children’s charity.
Chiefs Rugby Club Chief Executive Officer Michael Collins said: "We are really proud to have Variety on board as one of our official community partners.”
“Our Club is keen to support organisations that help more kids within our regions to be healthy and happy. Variety is a great fit and together we hope to assist them in achieving their goals in helping Kiwi kids,” he said.
Variety is a nationwide charitable organisation, that helps to give disadvantaged New Zealand children a happier and healthier childhood. The charity is part of Variety International, a global organisation with 44 offices in 13 countries.
Variety Chief Executive Lorraine Taylor said: “Variety is really excited about the partnership with the Chiefs Rugby Club. Their fundraising initiatives for our organisation will no doubt, not only help expand the reach of our programmes, but also impact Variety kids directly through their plans to involve the children in their sports clinics and events. We look forward to working closely with the Club in the coming months.”
Les Mills and the Chiefs Rugby Club will be delivering a Les Mills GRIT® Cardio with the Gallagher Chiefs players and the community as the Club’s first fundraising initiative for the charity. Participants will register with a $5.00 donation that will go directly to Variety. The workout will kick-off at 4.00pm on Tuesday 10 December on the Gallagher Chiefs training field, 10 Bisley Road, Ruakura. To register see: www.chiefs.co.nz
Variety – the Children’s Charity
Variety provides tailored and flexible support to disadvantaged New Zealand children, working alongside schools, community agencies, social workers and healthcare professionals to identify Kiwi kids in need. Variety sponsorships provide children with funding for basic essentials (such as warm bedding and school uniforms), and access to extra-curricular activities (such as school camp or swimming lessons). Variety also provides one-off grants for additional needs (such as medical and mobility equipment).
