Former New Zealand Secondary Schools captain, Quinn Tupaea broke onto the scene for Waikato in 2018. A powerful runner and skilful with the ball in hand, he has a bright future ahead of him.

Tupaea had an impressive debut season in the Gallagher Chiefs jersey. Debuting for the Gallagher Chiefs against the Blues in the opening game of the 2020 Investec Super Rugby competition, Tupaea was later named Gallagher Chiefs Rookie of the Year.

His notable performances for Waikato also earned him a spot in the 2019 New Zealand Under-20 squad.

In 2021 while in camp for the Māori All Blacks, Tupaea was named into the 2021 All Blacks Squad for the first time, and made his debut v Tonga on July 3rd 2021. He was then named into the All Blacks squad for the Rugby Championship.

Tupaea sustained a season-ending knee injury during the All Blacks v Australia Bledisloe Cup match in 2022 which meant he was sidelined for the 2023 DHL Super Rugby Pacific season. However, his continued involvement with the team and community throughout the season earnt him the Mana Kotiate Award at the Chiefs Rugby Club awards night.
